Ashes Of Soul

In this work, I present a transparency of a garment inspired by the intangible part of the soul, on which I have placed flowers made of thread. The body is completely absent from the piece, and the dress is suspended in a circle of ash, aiming to show the ritualistic shape of the circle that indicates where something ends, something begins, and where something begins, it ends. The ash in the work serves to remind us of that part of life that has ended.

In this way, I want to emphasize memory, which is why the charcoals are presented as ashes. The suspension in the work is meant to convey flight, to highlight the lightness and movement of the soul. I believe that the soul wears a body for a specific period of time, filling it with experiences and memories that, over time, fade away—burn away.
